Reel sizes and safe zones
Reels are vertical 9:16, 1080 by 1920 pixels, and that is the shape Kreyta makes. Two things catch people out. First, Instagram covers the bottom of the Reel with your caption, the like and comment buttons and your name, so keep prices and key words in the middle of the frame. Second, on your profile grid the Reel shows as a cropped, shorter tile, so the first frame should still make sense when its top and bottom are trimmed.
Pick a length that matches the idea. 8 seconds for a single wow moment. 16 seconds for a mini ad. 32 seconds for a list, like '3 ways to tie your gele'. 64 seconds when you are teaching or telling a story.
- Shape: 9:16, 1080 by 1920
- Keep text away from the bottom fifth and the right edge
- First frame: clear and readable when cropped on the grid
- Captions on, because many people watch muted
How the Instagram reel maker works
Type an idea like 'a reel showing our new ankara two-piece sets, three colours, N28,000, Abuja delivery in 48 hours'. Choose the Reel style, and Kreyta writes a short script with a hook, plans the scenes and shows you the scene pictures. When you approve, it makes the video. You can pick a voiceover in English or Pidgin, or say 'no talking, just music' for a music and visuals reel.
Then open the free caption tool with the same idea. It writes the caption, hashtags and hook lines for Instagram, so the words match the video.
Hooks that stop the scroll
The first two seconds decide everything. Good Reel hooks either promise something useful, show a surprising result, or call out a specific person. 'If you sell food in Lagos, watch this.' 'This is what N50,000 gets you in Ajah.' 'Three mistakes killing your hair growth.'
Put the hook on screen as text and say it in the voiceover. Then deliver on it fast. Do not spend six seconds on a logo intro. Close with one thing to do: save the reel, send a DM, tap the link in bio.
About trending sounds
Kreyta does not put trending songs into your video. Add the sound inside Instagram when you post. If you run a business account, use sounds Instagram marks as cleared for business use. For a sound that is fully yours, make a short Afrobeats or Amapiano track with Kreyta's music tool and add it in Kreyta Editor.

Questions and answers
Do I need to appear in the reel?
No. Kreyta makes the scenes and the voiceover. If you want a person speaking to camera, try the presenter video tool.
Can I add a trending song?
Add it inside Instagram when you post. Kreyta does not render trending songs, but it can make an original track for you.
Will the reel work on TikTok and Status too?
Yes. The same 9:16 video fits TikTok and WhatsApp Status. Just change the caption for each place.
Are captions and hashtags extra?
No. The caption and hashtag tool is free.
How much does a reel cost?
Videos are priced in credits by length, shown before you make one. New accounts get 3 free credits once, and 1 credit is about N1,500 on the cheapest pack.
